NASHVILLE – SESAC, the nation’s fastest growing performing rights organization, named Christian songwriter/producer Jason Ingram as SESAC’s 2009 Christian Songwriter of the Year at ceremonies held today at the famed Loveless Barn. peertunes Ltd/Grange Hill Music/Windsor Way Music were named SESAC’s 2009 Christian Publishers of the Year.
Other SESAC award winners included such Christian songsmiths as Steven Taylor, Ian Eskelin, Brian White, Cary Barlowe, Sarah Reeves as well as Michael Doneney of Tenth Avenue North.
Jason Ingram continued to amaze music lovers in 2009 with his stunning and profilic work in the Christian format with such hits as “Hold My Heart” and “By Your Side” by Tenth Avenue North, “Can’t Take That Away” by Mikeschair, “Lose It All” by Rush Of Fools and “To God Alone” by Aaron Shust. Ingram was on hand at the awards ceremony to offer a stellar version of “By Your Side” along with Tenth Avenue North who took the song to the top of the charts.
SESAC also took the opportunity to acknowledge and reward the #1 songs that topped Billboard’s Christian charts in 2009.
Over 25 songs were acknowledged at the awards dinner which was hosted by SESAC’s Tim Fink and John Mullins.
