Welcome to the 2022 SESAC Music Awards. We are thrilled to be able to celebrate in person this year with our friends and affiliates. It is an honor to recognize the incredible achievements of the songwriters and music publishers behind this year's most performed songs.
We are excited to name Bryan-Michael Cox our SESAC Icon Awards winner for 2022. He is widely regarded as one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successfull songwriters and producers in the history of contemporary R&B. Cox is responsible for more than 100 million album sales, 35 number one hits, and 12 GRAMMY award nominations, including nine wins. He currently holds the record for most consecutive number one hits on the Billboard chart, a record previously held by The Beatles. Cox has received SESAC's songwriter of the year award six times.
We are celebrating over 50 songs with performance activity awards, including "Heat Waves" by Glass Animals, "Easy On Me" by Adele, "abcdefu" by GAYLE, and "Industry Baby" by Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow.
